I love smoothies for their convenience and they are a quick meal replacement on the go. Tropical smoothie cafe is one of my go-to smoothie places but oftentimes I love the ease of making my smoothies at home. I can customize them the way I want and add or take away anything I don’t. The rare times I’m craving something sweet, I do order this chocolate peanut butter smoothie. It has rich chocolate flavors with a hint of peanut butter making it taste just like a Reese’s pieces. I reimagined this smoothie at home with some slight tweaks without sacrificing flavor.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE
There are some easy ingredients used for this smoothie and most likely you will have some of them on hand:
- Protein mix: In order to add extra protein in this smoothie I used a pre-blended chocolate protein mix as the liquid base (Fairlife’s Core Power). As an alternative you can use 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder and add 1 cup milk instead. Or if you don’t want any added protein replace with 1 tbsp cocoa powder or cacao powder.
- Banana: I used 1 medium sized ripe banana. An alternative is you can use a frozen banana that will create a creamy consistency
- Peanut butter: Healthy fats like peanut butter allows the smoothie to be more filling. I prefer creamy peanut butter however if you want to use crunchy peanut butter or replace with almond butter you can.
- Ice: to make it all blend together ice cubes are used to give it a thicker consistency
