This time I made my Popeyes Blackened Chicken Tenders air fryer recipe and they turned into these delicious blackened chicken sandwiches. It’s such a fun and flavorful way to enjoy these tenders in a new way.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR CHICKEN SANDWICHES

- Honey Mustard Sauce: This simple 3-ingredient honey mustard sauce is the perfect companion for a spicy sandwich. Its slight tanginess balances the bold flavors, adding a touch of sweetness to every bite. You can also purchase store bought honey mustard sauce too.
- Buns: to keep things on the lighter side, I used whole wheat buns for this recipe however you can use whatever buns you prefer
- Pickles: I prefer dill pickles however you can use pickles you prefer
- Lettuce
- Tomato
HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN SANDWICHES

First, pull out all of the ingredients needed to assemble the spicy chicken sandwich. Prep all of the ingredients including shredding the lettuce and slicing the tomatoes.
In a small bowl, make the homemade honey mustard sauce.
Place the whole wheat buns on a cutting board and spray the inside with olive oil or cooking spray. In an air fryer or toaster, toast the whole wheat buns for 1-2 minutes or until you desired toast level. Return to the cutting board to assemble the sandwiches.
Place honey mustard sauce on both sides of the buns. Next place chicken slices on the bottom of the sandwich
On the top side of the bun place the crisp lettuce and tomato slices. Top with crisp pickles.
Optional: brush tops of buns with 1 tsp of melted butter and parsley
