Equipment

  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Toaster
  • 1 Butter Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Smoked salmon slices
  • 2 slices Whole wheat bread thick sliced
  • 1 oz Cream cheese low fat
  • 2 tbsp Red Onion raw or pickled
  • 1 tbsp Capers
  • 1/8 tsp Sesame seeds black
  • 1/8 tsp Dill fresh

Instructions

  • If you are making pickled red onions, make those first preferably the day before.
  • First, toast the bread slices until they are golden brown and crispy. I prefer a darker toast so the bread is nice and crusty.
  • Next, place the toast on a cutting board and spread approximately .5 oz of cream cheese on each piece of toast. Add the cold smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese spread.
  • Layer the pickled red onions on top of the salmon followed by the capers.
  • Lastly, sprinkle the tops with black sesame seeds and garnish with fresh dill (optional).
