Ground Turkey Pasta

Ground turkey pasta is a delicious and healthy dish for the whole family! It's an easy busy weeknight dinner that can be prepared in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans Tomato sauce 15 oz cans
  • 1.5 lb Ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup Red onion diced
  • 1 tsp Garlic diced
  • 1/3 cup Red bell pepper diced
  • 1/2 cup Baby spinach chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Penne Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of water to boil over high heat
  • Season with salt
  • Cook pasta to package instructions

Ground Turkey Meat Mixture

  • In a large skillet heat to medium-high heat.
  • While your skillet is heating, dice your red onions, red bell peppers and finely chop your spinach.
  • Once the skillet is hot, pour 1 tsp of olive oil in the pan and brown the ground turkey
  • Once the turkey is cooked through, remove from heat and drain the excess fat
  • Return skillet to the heat and add another tsp of oil
  • Next add your onions, garlic and peppers and cook until just softened. About 2-3 minutes
  • Once softened, add your spinach and stir until the spinach begins to wilt
  • Add your cooked ground turkey to the skillet and add 2 cans of tomato sauce plus your seasonings
  • Allow your sauce to come to a bubble and then reduce heat to medium heat and allow to simmer so flavors combine. About 10-15 minutes.

  • Parmesan cheese
  • Creamy mozzarella
  • Fresh parsley
  • Fresh herbs
  • Fresh basil
